Meet Kathy

Katherine Hochberger SLP
Katherine Hochberger, M.S. CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist & Owner

I am a Speech Language Pathologist with a passion for helping children develop the skills they need to be confident and effective communicators.

I received my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northeastern University in 2017, after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Loyola University Maryland in 2015. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association, as well as a license in Speech-Language Pathology from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Additionally, I hold a Massachusetts Educator License and an Interdisciplinary Certificate in Early Intervention (EI) from Northeastern University,

I have 7+ years experience working in various settings, including homes, private clinics, public schools, and a skilled nursing facility. When I began my first position in a school setting, I knew right away that working with children was my true passion. While I find so many areas in the field of speech pathology fascinating, my special interest is in the neurodiverse population, as well as supporting children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The best part about my job is that there is always more to learn!

My Approach

I believe in a child-led approach to therapy, as research indicates that children learn best when they are intrinsically motivated. I adapt my sessions to incorporate the preferred items, activities and interests of the child I am working with. My primary focus is on forming authentic relationships that are built on trust and connection.

I am a neurodiversity-friendly SLP. I understand that individuals have differences in their neurotypes and how they interact with the world around them. I believe that differences in the way individuals feel, think, and perceive information are not considered deficits that need to be "fixed." I always honor a child's unique interests, sensory needs, and play styles while working to develop their communication skills. Most importantly, I am dedicated to making therapy fun and functional for your child.

Kind Words

My son received speech therapy with Ms. Kathy for over a year. Our experience was very positive. Ms. Kathy is knowledgeable, patient and compassionate. She demonstrated a great understanding of my son's interests and ways to challenge him in a safe environment. We appreciated her willingness to collaborate with other providers for the overall care for my son as well. The nurturing environment she created eased any anxiety we had throughout the process!
